Because we’re a pair of lucky buggers, we got to go to the M&S Home SS19 preview. Not gonna lie, we liked a lot of it. Most of it. Ok, we loved all of it and got caught on the way out trying to steal a dining set and sideboard in our trousers. Here’s a rundown of our best bits.

Emma
Let’s talk dining. Let’s talk Scandi-inspired modernist tables and let-me-just-perch-here benches. Let talk industrial lights and ceramic plates, all played out in a muted palette of slate and sun-bleached wood.

Robyn
Oh Marks, your jungle room goodness got me hot as a balmy July evening. As well as excellent fake foliage there was also a sea of ceramic animal plates in pinks, ochres and blues. Sitting against a palette of timeless grey upholstery, it made me hanker for pastels in a way I’ve never done before.

Emma
They’ve only gone and designed a collection specifically for small homes. Think warm neutrals and storage storage storage. The media unit that’ll house all your books. The coffee table you can hide detritus in when the in-laws pop over. Genius.

Robyn
Blue room (sing to the tune of Blue Moon). Oh man, their pool blue collection is magnificent. Think contrasting patterns ranging from punchy florals to ikat. There’s textures to die for, drip-glazed vases, tassle throws and a blue velvet sofa I’d happily sit on for the rest of my life.

Emma
Personal favourite thing? Probably the ceramics, which have been hand-finished in Portugal for an individual look, each one slightly different from the last. Also, there were loads of vases, and we all know I bloody love a vase. Oh, and the lamp. I’m gonna need that lamp.

Robyn
Ok, my favourite piece and the thing I held for about 15 minutes and refused to let go of was a heavily textured and totally beautiful tiger cushion. I’ve thought about it every five minutes since we parted.
